Market Insights and Research – Hybrid – Budapest, Hungary

CloudPay has a full-time position as our first dedicated Market Insight and research role, for which you will be responsible for analysing, interpreting and providing actionable insights related to global payroll and payments markets.

As the Market Insight and research lead, you will collaborate with teams across the business to look at market trends, competitor propositions and audience needs to develop strategies to enable our customers and prospects to capitalise on the solutions we offer.

This pivotal role involves providing market and audience intelligence internally to key stakeholders in the business to aid strategic decision-making as well as inform tactical opportunities.

You’ll also be responsible for organizing and delivering research projects from design through to delivery of results.
 
Daily Duties and Main Responsibilities will include:
Market Insights
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of global payroll and payment markets using a variety of sources, primarily desk-based.
  • Provide actionable insights on current and emerging trends to support the annual business planning cycle, as well as drive thought leadership throughout the year to inspire and influence.
  • Lead data-driven market and competitor intelligence reports for internal distribution on a regular basis.
  • Develop and maintain competitor position reporting (alongside analyst reports) with appropriate KPI metrics to evidence the performance of strategies against market measures.
  • Conduct win/lost analysis in collaboration with our Sales and Pricing / Commercial teams to inform future marketing and sales strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with Product Marketing to shape and develop Go-To-Market plans and activities e.g. product positioning, sales enablement etc.
  • Lead identification and incorporation of innovative analytical and measurement tools to continuously grow our market intelligence capability
  • Champion the integration and application of insights to deliver quantifiably superior products and solutions, to uncover significant commercial potential
  • Help the business stay informed with market trends, competitor strategies and regulatory/ policy changes that may impact customer outcomes.
Research
  • Lead the development of globally relevant primary and secondary research projects aligned with our strategic areas of focus 
  • Utilize a full range of research methodologies to formulate and support both strategic and tactical business decisions. Leverage qualitative and quantitative data and analytics to derive unique insights designed to drive competitive differentiation and successful business performance  
  • Construct questionnaires and conduct interviews with prospects, customers and lapsed customers to understand and analyze ‘reasons to buy’ and ‘reasons to lose’ insights 
  • Develop recommendations for a set of primary and secondary data partners capable of enabling the elevation our insight capabilities, addressing gaps/needs in the business from an intelligence perspective.
  • Support the development of product category and segment strategies, generating relevant market, customer and competitor insights
 
Attributes and Experience Required:
  • Solid experience of work experience in a B2B marketing environment in similar insight and/or research roles
  • Significant experience analyzing and synthesizing data from a variety of sources and presenting actionable findings in a clear and concise manner 
  • Outstanding analytical and strategic thinking; the ability to creatively cut through data and clutter to identify what is most important
  • Ability to work independently, be proactive and have demonstrable decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Able to translate business objectives into measurable goals and KPIs 
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience with qualitative & and quantitative research methods and techniques including creating and conducting research interviews
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including; Outlook, Powerpoint, Word
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels to Board/C suite level plus develop and manage required agency/supplier relationships to undertake required insight and research projects
Desired
  • Experience managing NPS and brand measurement studies
  • Interest in insight-led storytelling using data visualization best practices and platforms like PowerBI / Tableau
