New Episode: Exploring How New Survey Data Illustrates the Threats and Opportunities for Payroll, with Sierra Cedar
An all-new episode of the Payday Global Payroll Podcast is now live, bringing you the first part of our fascinating conversation with Stacey Harris, VP of Research and Analytics at Sierra Cedar.
As Stacey and her team prepare to release the 21st annual edition of the HR Systems Survey, she took the opportunity to sit down with David Barak, to dive into some of the intriguing data coming out of the survey — including the startling statistic that as many as 9% of organizations that go through HR transformation end up reducing roles in the payroll function.
“It even gets a little bit higher when you look at organizations outside of North America,” Stacey explains in the episode. “When we look at organizations that are focused primarily just in Europe, that number jumps almost to 20%.
“This is a very sensitive topic and something that often gets misunderstood. What we’re finding is that as organizations go through HR transformation efforts, they do reduce the amount of administrative work that goes on in their HR technology environment… It’s not always that they’re reducing staff overall. What we’re finding is that they’re shifting staff into more strategic roles.”
What does that mean for global payroll teams and specifically for your role? Tune into this latest episode of Payday at paydaypodcast.net to hear more about this and other survey findings, and how the information can impact and inform your team.
