Supervisor, UK Payroll – Andover, Hampshire, UK – Hybrid or Remote

CloudPay is looking for an experienced and proactive UK Payroll Supervisor to oversee and lead a team of payroll professionals within a bureau environment. The ideal candidate will ensure the accurate and timely delivery of end-to-end payroll services while maintaining high customer satisfaction and team performance.

This role combines technical payroll expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to process improvement in a dynamic, client-focused environment

Daily Duties and Main Responsibilities will include:

Team Leadership and Supervision:
• Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of payroll professionals, ensuring their development and performance.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and team check-ins.
• Guide on complex payroll issues and ensure the team adheres to company policies and legal requirements.
• Provide payroll system training and guidance on annual updates to the new team members
Payroll Operations:
• Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including data collection, processing, reporting, and reconciliation.
• Ensure the accurate & timely completion of UK payrolls.
Client and Stakeholder Management:
• Act as a point of escalation for client queries, ensuring issues are resolved promptly and professionally.
• Foster strong relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and retention. Attend monthly client calls and follow up on queries.
Process Improvement and Compliance:
• Continuously review payroll processes to identify inefficiencies and lead improvements.
• Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and industry trends, ensuring compliance
• Utilize analytics to review team member and client performance and lead improvements where required
• Ensuring clients and team members work in line with agreed calendar deadlines

Attributes and Experience Required:
• Proven experience in managing an end-to-end UK payroll process within a bureau environment.
• Knowledge of payroll systems, regulations, and best practices
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, time management and multi-tasking skills
• Proactive, solution-oriented approach to challenges, with the ability to share information and interact positively with others
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders.
• Client-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
• Leadership experience, with a track record of managing and developing teams (although we will consider experienced payrollers looking to move into a supervisor role)
• Passion for continuous learning and staying updated on payroll trends and legislation
• A CIPP diploma in payroll management is advantageous
