Our CloudPay Experience at Oracle CloudWorld 2023

In September, CloudPay was proud to sponsor and exhibit at Oracle CloudWorld 2023 in Las Vegas. Oracle CloudWorld brought together industry experts and peers to explore insights and technologies that are solving the biggest business challenges of today. For us, it was a great chance to meet people like you and discuss ways of redefining the modern pay experience, including our integrations with many leading HCM providers.

Integration was the hot topic

Many of the Oracle customers that we spoke to across the four days at CloudWorld were keen to explore new strategies for their global payroll. We found a common theme with organizations that they have multiple country-specific payrolls and use a systems integrator to bring them all together. Managing all those vendor relationships and customer integrations is costly and archaic. So being able to share the news that we can provide a single solution across all territories, with a robust standard integration in collaboration with our partner Epicenter, was really rewarding for everyone concerned.

There were also many partners in the ecosystem who were delighted to know that CloudPay is an option in the Oracle space as well. Implementing CloudPay as a global payroll solution is a win for Systems Integrators because they know the value this brings to organizations.

Star sessions and valuable insights

There were over 1000 sessions across the event, covering a vast range of different topics. But one subject that really stood out across many of the presentations was artificial intelligence: like every type of business right now, AI is the one area that is keenly being explored for new efficiencies and improvements. From our perspective, it was fascinating to discuss how AI could improve payroll accuracy and reduce the workload on payroll teams by automating the error detection and analysis processes.

The top takeaways

This was the first time that we’ve attended Oracle CloudWorld as a sponsor, and it was heart-warming to be welcomed by all the companies and partners in attendance. We’ve been part of the Oracle ecosystem for several years and are proud members of the Oracle Partner Network. We’re looking forward to building on our relationships and playing a leading role in shaping the future of global payroll to drive efficiency and success.

“The entire CloudPay team that attended was energized by the level of engagement attendees had in conversations about their payroll and HCM integration needs,” said Lisa Mahlum, CloudPay’s Vice President of Global Alliances. “Together with our partner Epicenter, we look forward to continuing the discussion.”

One thing that CloudPay and Oracle have in common is our commitment to solving customer problems. The fact that Oracle’s CEO, Safra Catz, personally called a customer on the brink of a major go-live sets a positive tone that we, and many of our partners, aspire to follow.

It was clear from CloudWorld, however, that many businesses that work with Oracle are currently in a HR transition phase. Some are moving away from competing products, or simply have not used HCM solutions before, and so are starting to explore how payroll fits into their transformation. Making sense of that major undertaking was therefore a big talking point across the week, especially in how to adjust to a changing payroll landscape, and how to manage many different internal priorities and stakeholders.

One frequent question from Oracle customers that stopped by our booth was, “we have a blend of software companies that we use, does CloudPay work with other software companies as well?” (For example, they have Workday HCM, NetSuite Financials, or some other blend of solutions.). and the emphatic answer is “yes!” CloudPay does work with all the major HCM software companies and is happy to map out what a solution could look like.

And on a lighter note, our Adopt-a-Monkey scheme that ran throughout the event was a tremendous success, with 600 toy monkeys heading off to new homes all over the world!

And in case you missed it, we had held a booth prize draw, for those who talked to both CloudPay and our integration partner Epicenter and dropped their stamped card in the box, for a chance to win an Amazon gift card. We are pleased to say that William Darrow from General Dynamics was the winner! Spend it wisely William!

CloudPay on tour

It was great to meet so many new people at Oracle CloudWorld, and to catch up with some long-term partners and peers, too. We’re still on the road all over the world so that we can connect with all types of businesses and learn more about how we can support you with your modern pay experience. We recently attended Workday Rising US in San Francisco, are at CIPP ACE 2023 in Wales this week, and are looking forward to sponsoring Workday Rising EMEA in Barcelona this November.
