As part of Workday’s commitment to streamline and simplify the payroll experience, Workday unveiled Global Payroll Connect in August of last year, a unified global payroll solution that can seamlessly connect with payroll providers to deliver an end-to-end global payroll experience. As a Workday partner, we were delighted to have the opportunity to work closely with them to make their vision a reality, and were very proud to be the first partner who had an independent customer running live on the recently added Additional Payroll Data feature.

As we’ve been working to support the new API integration, we’ve found many benefits in a collaborative approach, allowing us to achieve outstanding results while focusing on the initial release of Additional Payroll Data and the CloudPay Global Payroll Hub.

Additional Payroll Data
The Additional Payroll Data feature is a critical aspect of Workday’s Global Payroll Connect. In the CloudPay world we refer to this data as LPI – local payroll information. Prior to this development, the additional data required to process payroll in different countries would need to be provided in a CSV flat file to upload for payroll processing. The advantages of the new approach are huge for our customers.
Real-time data validation
This new feature gives all employees the opportunity to enter the relevant information within Workday, with CloudPay validating format and content at point of entry, providing customers with a frictionless, easy way to provide error free data. Continuous feedback from Workday has been instrumental in perfecting this feature.
Enhanced administrator experience
We provide additional tools, such as notifications and editing rights, improving the overall experience for payroll administrators. This enhancement is a direct result of our collaborative efforts with Workday’s product team.
Employee engagement
By allowing employees to enter and edit country-specific payroll data through the Workday UI, we make the system more interactive and engaging for users. Our partnership has ensured that this functionality is user-friendly and effective.
CloudPay Global Payroll Hub: a centralized solution
As an early adopter of Workday Global Payroll Connect, CloudPay’s Global Payroll Hub offers several key benefits.
Seamless experience
The payroll practitioner enjoys a simple, focused experience as they can operate payrolls from one central location with full details of where they are in the payroll process for each of their payrolls. This is combined with the ability to drill down into the detail of next step actions to take.
From within the centralized hub, they can divert from the Workday ecosystem to the exact place they need to be to take action within CloudPay. Working closely with Workday has ensured that Global Payroll Connect integrates smoothly with CloudPay to provide a cohesive user experience.
Improves Workday adoption
Through our collaboration, we make payroll processing more efficient for users, empowering them to manage global payroll operations with greater control and visibility directly from Workday and embed Workday at the center of the payroll process.
